1787 1/2C Massachusetts PCGS MS63BN Rider 5-A (Rarity-3)
Reference #: C14 "Not the most typically encountered 1787 MA Half Cent variety, Ryder 5-A is seldom found in this grade, giving this coin appeal to both type and variety collectors. Problem free medium brown and glossy, some light natural roughness at the central high points from insufficient metal flow during striking, an occurance common with these half cents. Massachusetts Half Cents represented the first and only use of this denomination before the U.S. Mint opened."

1787 1/2C "John J. Ford, Jr." Massachusetts PCGS XF40 Rider 1-D (Rarity-4)
Reference #: C15 "A slightly scarcer variety, one for which only a small handful are known to exist in mint state, making this coin a very desirable example. The pedigree for this coin can be traced back to Ryder himself. Ryder 1-Ds have a rounded, three dimensional look to their reverse shields, compared to a flatter look for most varieties. Just two tiny tics in the obverse field, this medium brown coin is smooth and pleasing."

1787 Cent Left Arrow Massachusetts PCGS VF30 Rider 2b-A (Low Rarity-3)
Reference #: C16 "PCGS label notes ""Left Arrow"", which is standard. Only the extremely elusive Ryder 2b-F has the Eagle gripping the arrows with its right talons, so most PCGS labels do not comment on this placement. This is the distinct ""Horned Eagle"" Red Book Type, with a die break rising from the Eagle's head. Smooth and reflective chocolate brown surfaces, with much less die rust found in the lower left reverse fields than is usually seen. No real problems, just a few very minor contact marks that are fully consistent with the grade."
