1722-H 9 Den French Colonies PCGS VF20
Reference #: C70
"Pleasing two tone contrast, having dark golden fields with tan raised points. These coins very seldom come on choice planchets, and while this one is no exception, it certainly is pleasing enough and actually above average for the issue in that regard. In fact, this coin is now the current Red Book Plate Coin. Technically, a strong case can be made for this coin deserving at least a slightly higher grade than that assigned it by PCGS, as its detail approaches EF, and while the surfaces are a bit grainy, they are not flawed which is the case with many examples of this issue."

"Another attractive coin made more interesting by having been struck off center to the right on each side. Even chocolate brown, the fields are smooth and glossy but with natural central roughness, more so on reverse That's more than compensated for by the off center strike, which leaves a lip of excess plancet beyond the left denticles on both sides."

1723 2Pence PCGS MS62BN Rosa Americana
Breen 96

Reference #: C5
"No Stop After X or Three type. This is a wonderful coin with about as much gloss as one will ever see for an issue where even the smoothest examples have finely textured surfaces. As such, this coin is far above average, and in a delightful stage of preservation. Problem free, mid golden brown surfaces."

"An attractive mint state example that is mostly light chocolate brown, but with some scattered small areas of darker toning. Mostly smooth and glossy, with a few trace naturally rough spots on the reverse. "

1723 Penny PCGS AU55 Rosa Americana
Breen 121

Reference #: C4
"No Stop After Large Three type. A standard issue for this year with a crown seated on top of the rose. A pleasing coin, mostly medium to darker golden brown with a touch more gold naturally showing through at a few points. Absolutely free of problems, though the surfaces display the very fine natural texture typically associated with this issue."
